In addition to providing appropriate basic adhesive physical properties, such as initial adhesion, peel strength, and holding power, the hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive for hook-and-loop fasteners should also possess the following characteristics:
1) Good thermal stability:
Generally, polymers will experience bond breakage when operating in an environment above 170 °C. A high-quality hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive must have excellent thermal stability characteristics against aging and cracking when provided to coating application manufacturers. Hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesives with poor thermal stability will rapidly carbonize during high-temperature operations and adhere to the walls of the glue melting tank, the inside of the die head, or the glue application rollers. These carbonized hot-melt adhesives will affect the heat conduction of the heat medium or electric heating system, making it necessary to continuously increase the operating temperature to melt the hot-melt adhesive during the gluing process, which further accelerates the deterioration of the hot-melt adhesive.
2) Appearance: Light-colored and transparent
The color of the hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive used for various colored ribbons should be light-colored and transparent so as not to affect the overall appearance of the ribbon. There are molecular bonds with relatively high activity in polymers. When the variable bonds in polymers are hydrogenated, they will become saturated and turn into single bonds. After hydrogenation, the color of the polymer becomes lighter, its activity decreases, its stability increases, and its heat resistance and weather resistance can all be improved. However, due to the decrease in activity, the viscosity will be relatively weakened. It is necessary to adjust the viscoelasticity of the hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive to improve its adhesive performance.
3) Special adhesive physical properties: No adhesive is all-purpose. The basic physical property requirement for the hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive for hook-and-loop fasteners is that the gripping force between the hot-melt adhesive and the adherend must be greater than the pulling force (peel strength) between the ribbons (hooks, loops) and the shearing force (parallel force). However, in many special application markets, the hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive for hook-and-loop fasteners must also consider heat resistance, cold resistance, and adhesion to low-polarity substances.
Banglin has served the hook-and-loop fastener industry for more than ten years, accumulating rich application experience and providing stable products that have been verified by the market. The hot-melt adhesive series products for hook-and-loop fasteners are widely used in markets such as fixing screen doors and curtains, fixing car floor mats, fixing luggage, shoes and clothing, fixing wire harnesses, and fixing disposable mops. The products possess good adhesion and holding power; achieve high bonding performance with a low amount of adhesive used; and excellent high and low temperature performance ensures the effectiveness of bonding.
Products:
- 705 (for car floor mats / luggage, clothing and footwear): Low adhesive consumption, high cost-performance ratio.
- 701A (for disposable mops): Strong adhesion, balanced high and low temperature performance.
- 3388T (for wire harness fixing back to back): Strong adhesion, easy to die-cut.
- 701E (for screen doors and curtains): Super-strong adhesion, outstanding heat resistance.
